INSPIRE Community Spirit

Congratulations, Cory Bell.

Cory Bell website 250x265

Cory Bell is President and co-owner of Lindsay Construction. After graduating from Dalhousie University and TUNS, he joined Lindsay as a Site Engineer and worked his way up. Cory has been one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs for three years, and the organization has been acknowledged as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies since 2012.
Giving back to his community is incredibly important to Cory. Watching Terry Fox run through Thunder Bay at age 7 inspired Cory to begin his advocacy for cancer awareness. After his sister’s diagnosis in 1999, that advocacy elevated to new levels. He is a long-time supporter of cancer causes, and has raised over $300,000 through co-founding Trailblazer for Cancer and supporting the Terry Fox Run and the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
As a father of two who has experienced the outstanding care provided by the IWK, Cory is committed to supporting the hospital. Over $750,000 was raised during the three years he chaired the IWK’s Great Big Dig. Cory is also involved with the United Way, We Day, Children’s Wish Foundation, Queen Elizabeth Health Science Centre, and Habitat for Humanity.
Cory attributes much of his success to the mentorship he received from many people along the way.  However, it was his late sister Heidi who he says has influenced him the most.  An Architect by trade, Heidi always showed Cory how to look at problems’ from a different perspective.  When his natural instinct would tell him to barrel through an issue, Heidi taught him how to see things through the perspectives of others allowing him to maneuver around the issue instead.  To this day when faced with challenges in life, Cory reflects on Heidi’s ideals prior to making a decision.
