Tim-Br Mart helps kids!

On Saturday, September 19, Taylor Tim-br Mart in Musquodoboit Harbour held a special event in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax. The store donated a portion of their sales that day, and the Timbrkids Foundation matched the donation to total $1000. "This event is a great way for our store to make a difference to children around HRM," said Gary Ferguson, General Manager, Operations. "I was a Big Brother for a number of years, and found it to be a very rewarding experience. The young people in the Big Brothers Big Sisters programs are terrific kids, who just need a little support and guidance from a caring adult mentor."
"Big Brothers Big Sisters works with community partners like Tim-br Mart to secure the financial means for connecting children and youth in need with mentors who will help them learn, grow and succeed,” said Shelda Cochrane, Communications Manager, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax. “Demand for youth mentoring services throughout Greater Halifax far exceeds our current resources. More than 150 children and teens are on the waiting list, and some remain without a mentor for more than a year. Every child who wants a Big Brother or Big Sister should have one. And with the support of good corporate citizens like Tim-br Mart, we can reach this goal.”
